John Cleese caught talking about ‘marijuana caravans’ live on GMB

Monty Python actor John Cleese was caught in the act on live TV this morning. It all unfolded during John’s interview with hosts Charlotte Hawkins and Ben Shephard, who tried to start their segment but the actor was completely unaware they had returned from the advert break and were live on-air. John completely missed the cue and is heard saying: ‘There’s this extraordinary caravan which is powered almost entirely by marijuana or something. In the midst of uneasy laughter, Ben joked: ‘That’s how we should start an interview at all times. Realising what had happened, John suddenly broke into an awkward smile and swivelled around in his chair, almost like a school kid who’d been caught talking about something naughty.

Seriously, we need to know more about those marijuana caravans, John. Reacting to John’s gaffe, a viewer tweeted: ‘You need your own whole show interview – 5 minutes wasn’t nearly enough. The trio managed to gloss over the awkward moment but not for long as the comedian later launched into a tirade about his plans to leave the ‘corrupt’ UK. Not holding back, John ranted: ‘I’m going to buzz off in November because I’m fed up of the corruption in this country. ‘In particular, with just how awful the newspapers are and the way they censor news so people in England don’t know certain things, particularly anything critical of them. ‘I don’t think you can run a democracy until you have reasonably reliable information out there to help people make up their mind how they’re going to vote. MORE: John Cleese is leaving the UK in November because he’s ‘fed up of corruption and awful newspapers’.

Revolutionary Clinics Offers Marijuana-Themed Comedy

Medical marijuana dispensaries are still new to Somerville, and Revolutionary Clinics-recently opened in East Somerville-is aiming to make getting educated fun. The dispensary hosts patient education nights every Thursday, and this week is hosting a free, marijuana-themed comedy show featuring comedians from Greater Boston. He’s been doing comedy since 1994, and got involved with ImprovBoston when he moved to the area in 2014. The show will feature storytelling and stand-up comedy. The performers-Laura Clark, Lauren Brown, Alan Richardson, Pamela Ross, and Wes Hazard-will share funny stories about their experiences with marijuana.

While the performance will focus more on anecdotes than straight information, Fear says that comedy is a great way to communicate about marijuana. The show is free and there’s free parking available.
