Louis Johnson – Experimenting with Marijuana – Comedy Works

Chalice music & marijuana festival postponed for four months

Issues with Victorville City Council not welcoming the cannabis culture to their city. Chalice Festival’s unwillingness to thrown an event that does not meet our brand’s standards. We bring over 30 million to the areas we throw events. As a culture we should not grace anti-cannabis areas with the positive impact that our events bring. Our main focus is to professionally handle and address the people who have tickets to Chalice, the vendors, the sponsors, the people who make the event what it is.

Every person who has ever been to one of our events or. In December, we were first in line to be issued a cannabis event promoter license, which gives us the right to throw up to 10 events a year. The law said for each event we need a temporary event license issued by the bureau of cannabis control. The BCC denied my application due to the city of Victorvilles disapproval of cannabis activity in their jurisdiction. We throw our event on compliant state property and are fully entitled to the BCC issuing us our retail sales license for the event.

While we pursue our state claim, the city of Victorville needs to hear our voices of protest! We have a city council meeting today at 530 in Victorville! Come out and support! Particularly, the legal opinion prevented the city from green-lighting the marijuana-themed art and music event because it conflicted with a city ordinance, in effect since Dec. 7, that forbids most commercial cannabis activity within city limits, Jones said.

Louisville mulls changing city marijuana regulations

Louisville leaders are considering a series of changes to the city’s marijuana regulations. While Louisville City Council members have expressed agreement on issues such as increasing the allowable size of dispensaries from 2,000 square feet to 5,000 and removing the restriction that limits the total number of pot shops to four, they differ on whether to allow grow operations to open up shop in certain industrial areas. Mayor Pro-Tem Jeff Lipton was a vocal supporter of allowing marijuana cultivation when the topic of revamping regulations was raised during a discussion at Tuesday’s council meeting. Councilwoman Ashley Stolzmann and Councilman Dennis Maloney took a similar view of the matter. Some Louisville city leaders remain staunchly against allowing grow operations.

Muckle questioned the need to change city code as it relates to commercial pot growing. Councilman Jay Keany also spoke out against cultivation, arguing grow operations do not typically provide a huge tax revenue windfall for cities, nor do they add a significant number of jobs to the local economy. Muckle and Keany also opposed any changes to city regulations that would allow dispensaries to open in the downtown area. Louisville officials have instructed city staffers to continue studying issues related to pot regulations and bring forth a draft ordinance at an upcoming council meeting to address cultivation, dispensary size and location, and the number of pot shops permitted.

Cheech Marin

Nationality: United StatesExecutive summary: The stoned half of Cheech and Chong. Marin was a counterculture cut-up who went to college in the 1960s to sidestep the draft, then moved to Canada to escape it. Their 1971 comedy album was beloved by pot-smoking high school and college kids everywhere, and they eventually wrote and starred in such reefer-themed motion pictures as Up In Smoke, Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie, and Still Smokin’. While remaining on good terms, Cheech & Chong stopped performing together in 1985. Sans Chong, Marin wrote, directed, and starred in the deportation comedy Born In East L.A.

with Paul Rodriguez and Daniel Stern. He then mellowed into a character actor, playing a cop on Nash Bridges with Don Johnson, and chasing Tyne Daly on Judging Amy. He has appeared in supporting roles in films from Spy Kids to Christmas with the Kranks. He also voiced an evil hyena in Disney’s The Lion King. For all the endless warnings from governmental authorities that marijuana will rot your mind, Marin still has his wits about him.

In 1992, he won the first celebrity tournament on Jeopardy, and in his spare time, he volunteers for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and serves on the Inner City Arts Council. He is also a collector of Hispanic art, and markets his own hot sauce. In 2004, while Chong was imprisoned for selling bongs, Marin accepted an award on Chong’s behalf from Comedy Central, for Best Comedian Behind Bars.

Seeing Green: Celebrities Selling Marijuana « CBS Chicago

CHICAGO – Recreational marijuana is still against the law in 41 states. A number of celebrities with their own brands to sell are seeing green all the same. Hollywood has long been addicted to a good marijuana joke. Now he’s legit – selling a line of organically-grown cannabis called Chong’s Choice. Chong’s Choice is for sale in six states, and as with any other product, name recognition matters.

With marijuana sales expected to reach $8-10 billion by the end of this year, and projected to double to $20 billion by 2022, more celebs are investing money and lending their names to get a foothold in this growing market. He says celebrities such as Chong, Willie Nelson, Snoop Dog and even Whoopi Goldberg are helping marijuana go mainstream. Grammy-winning artist Melissa Etheridge is getting in on the act, from the ground up; she calls 47 acres in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains Etheridge Farms. Etheridge says she discovered the healing power of marijuana during painful chemotherapy sessions after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. For Etheridge, pot isn’t just about getting high; it’s about getting healthy – and, she says, the product grown here will have strict standards.

There are even edible products, like gingersnap weed cookies and other baked goods. Etheridge Farms is not yet up-and-running, but she hopes that putting the Etheridge name on her products will lead to more people experiencing a higher level of relaxation.

(Weed) Marijuana Legal In India | Sorry For The Interruption | Comedyone

‘Sum Chic’ on the Radio

Answer: An unforgettable encounter with the talented comedian, politician, and radio host, Elizabeth Croydon. Elizabeth Croydon is from the small suburban town of Kensington, Maryland. Just seven miles outside the Washington, D.C. border, Croydon has a knack for politics and production. For her, it felt like it was Croydon versus the world.

Croydon is a comedian with a sharp tongue, and in a stunt to point out the corrupt political establishment taking money from Monsanto – she was one of the rebels who threw dollar bills out of the Senate Hart Office Building, from Sen. Warren’s office window. Croydon has the mind of a creator, constantly coming up with pitches for shows, and jotting down conversations she has in real life to turn them into comedy gold. While very well informed when it comes to civics, Croydon didn’t strive to be in any political office – until her friends egged her on to run for U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 8.th.

Croydon sees herself as a creative first and foremost, while dabbling in politics, screenwriting, and, well – dabs. Is a dab-tastic live-streaming radio show hosted by a cannabis extract connoisseur who goes by the name of Phone Homie. Croydon’s taken on the responsibility of anchoring the iconic cannabis subculture show. If you want to hear Croydon in action, she’s the co-host and producer of The Evil Do Gooder Show. It was from writer Paul Dennis, who happens to live ‘across the pond’ in Croydon, England.

A Stash of Stand Up Comedy!

Pot’s Greatest Hits: A Stash Of Stand-Up Comedy is a compilation CD of the best marijuana bits from the funniest comics working today. Hosted by Doug Benson, Co-Creator and Co-Star of the off-Broadway hit, The Marijuana-logues, this collection of cannabis humor ranges from absolute stoner brilliance to absolute stoner stupidity. All the routines have their own hysterical point of view. Tom Rhodes shares a romantic story of his loneliest joint; Franklyn Ajaye describes what it was like being stoned and taking his Physical Anthropology final. Paul Gilmartin, host of Dinner and a Movie on TBS, takes us on his side splitting, courageous mission to grow weed in the middle of a Chicago winter.

Ron Shock is clearly on his soap box as he advocates for the legalization and taxation of marijuana, while keeping everyone laughing at our government’s hypocrisy. As a bonus, the CD will be packaged with a FREE DVD. From our customized, Pot’s Greatest Hits mobile studio, we video taped the comics telling their most personal, ridiculous pot stories. In a paranoid state, Jimmy Dore threw his bag of weed out the window and hit a cop in the head. Lee Allan was so high he couldn’t find the tallest tree on the planet from 50 feet away.

Pot’s Greatest Hits is the first and only marijuana compilation CD. It is the creation of Mr. A Productions, a Manhattan Beach, CA based company. It’s distributed by Ardustry Home Enterainment under the Laugher Heals record label banner.

Who are Really the Top Shareholders of Monsanto?

People like to talk nasty about Hugh Grant, Monsanto’s CEO, and obviously a shareholder. He purportedly owns millions of shares of Monsanto stock as well. The real owners of Monsanto stock are institutions, and people who hide behind those institutions, not individuals like Gates and Grant. According to multiple sources, five investment funds are the top shareholders in Monsanto, with the Vanguard Group, Inc. at the top.

As you can see, the number of shares held by institutions dwarfs the number held by individuals, including those who do Monsanto’s dirty work in the public arena. The Vanguard Group owns over $3 trillion in investments in different, and mostly hated, companies like Monsanto. They also hold the world’s largest companies such as: Bank of America, JP Morgan, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley. State Street Corporation, Vanguard Group, Capital Research Global Investors, and FMR are all the key owners of – well, essentially the world. You could say that just four companies control all the big banks and all the major companies on the planet.

An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy – including Agribusiness. What should really be concerning is who owns Vanguard. It means that seven people and their overlords are likely poisoning the entire planet through biotech, Big Ag, Big Pharma, and Big Banks.

Doctors Say E.R. Visits Up Due To Marijuana Edibles « CBS Denver

Since Colorado legalized marijuana doctors say they’re seeing more and more people coming in with THC-related problems. So CBS4’s Alan Gionet wondered if the effects of pot are different when it’s eaten instead of being smoked. Even after marijuana was legalized this year under Colorado law, it’s still unusual to see pot smokers come in for help. Colwell said about five to 10 people now come in per week, complaining about how they’re feeling after ingesting edibles. At the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center the number one complaint related to marijuana is about brownies, followed by cookies.

Medical director Dr. Alvin Bronstein said it may be that the items are made unevenly. There’s not a lot of evidence of that or anything regarding edibles. Experts do know the effect takes longer, so people like the woman we talked to – who did not want her identity revealed, eat more. Investigators believe international student Levy Pongi ate a cookie, did not feel much effect, then ate more.

The medical examiner tested Pongi’s body for hundreds of substances but found only THC. Dr. Colwell said that THC can bring out underlying psychosis and they’re finding people with problems who’ve had not only marijuana, but other drugs as well. Richard Kirk is accused of killing his wife after what his wife told a 911 operator was a hallucinogenic episode after eating marijuana candy and taking a prescription medication. It may be what people are eating with it is a factor.

Bill Hicks – Mandatory Marijuana

5 Reasons to Be Careful When Consuming Marijuana Edibles

Vaporizing is on the rise, but the real competition for smoked buds is marijuana edibles. Edibles make up an ever-increasing proportion of marijuana sales in legal states and medical marijuana states, and at this point, the market appears insatiable. Back in the day, edibles basically meant creating marijuana butter and using it in your recipes, and your pot cookies tasted like weed. Unlike smoked marijuana, whose effects are almost instantaneous, allowing users to stop when they feel high enough, edibles take between a half hour and an hour to take effect. Here, thanks to the Cannabist, are five reasons edibles can be unpredictable, especially when compared to smoked buds.

Eating edibles isn’t the same thing as smoking buds. Edibles are generally made from undifferentiated trim. Growers know their buds are more valuable in the smoking market than as ingredients for edibles, but edibles makers know there is still enough THC in the plant waste to produce edibles with psychoactive effects. Some edibles makers use whole buds instead of trim; that’s like the difference between a fine Scotch grown with high-quality grain and rot-gut vodka made out of cheap potatoes. Although it’s been more than 20 years since Brownie Mary began handing out pot brownies to AIDS patients in San Francisco, the science around edibles is seriously lagging.

While research on marijuana in general has been restricted by the government, research on edibles faces the same bureaucratic challenges and has only just begun. There is little scientific basis for any specific claims made by edibles purveyors.

Southern University get $7 million in grants to develop medical marijuana program

Southern University and A&M College will be the first HBCU in the nation to offer a medical marijuana program. It’s an achievement that the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based university is proud to attain and marks a significant shift in how pharmaceutical-grade marijuana products are perceived as it gains more acceptance worldwide. Southern University and A&M College will partner with Advanced Biomedics, a Louisiana-based company specializing in pharmaceutical-grade marijuana products. The school has plans to build a facility for their cannabis research on a 176-acre plot of land in Baker, Louisiana. The Southern University Agricultural Center is currently waiting for background checks to be completed from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry which is part of their accrediding process.

Louisiana marijuana dispensaries will get the benefit of receiving their product from Southern University, starting in early 2019. According to reports, the Agricultural Research Center will receive $6 million, and Southern U will receive a $1 million signing bonus with each contract renewal. The Advanced Biomedics contract will renew its agreement for two consecutive five-year periods. According to reports, the school currently focuses on livestock, farming research and community education. Louisiana State University is another public university that will take part in cannabis research.

Pharmaceutical grade cannabis has been found to help glaucoma, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, Parkinson’s disease and many other ailments.

Colorado State Patrol seizes 123 lbs of pot in 1-76 bust

STERLING – The Colorado State Patrol arrested two people and seized 123 pounds of marijuana in two related traffic stops on Monday. This is the fifth major marijuana arrest made by the CSP on I-76 between Fort Morgan and Sterling since Feb. 10. Criminal activity was suspected and both vehicles were asked for consent to search. The search revealed 123 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle as well as a handgun. Upon further investigation, CSP troopers found that Nichols was the registered owner of the Lexus Basnett was driving.

Each vehicle had a two-way radio set up inside and tuned to the same channel. According to the CSP it appears that Nichols’ vehicle was being used as a decoy with the purpose of alerting Basnett, the driver of the Lexus loaded with the drugs, of any law enforcement activity and also to distract law enforcement if needed. Both parties were booked into the Logan County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Since Feb. 10, five felony marijuana arrests have been made by the CSP on I-76 between Fort Morgan and Sterling. After a search of the vehicle a duffle bag containing 10.44 pounds of marijuana was found.

After detecting a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle the driver was patted down and.9 grams of methamphetamine, a meth pipe and a marijuana pipe were found. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 6.95 pounds of compressed marijuana and another 3.07 ounces of loose marijuana.

Attorney John Morgan

In 1971, he and his family moved to Orlando, Florida, where John attended high school. John enrolled in the University of Florida and became a member of Alpha Tau Omega. John graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1983. By 1988, John had founded Morgan & Morgan under the belief that the firm would represent the people, not the powerful. To this day, John has run the firm by that code, promising never to take a case representing an insurance carrier or large company.

John has lectured across the country on the practice of law. John is currently on the board of trustees for the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. Lawyers from across the country have read the books and continue to reach out to John for further guidance and advice. In 2013, John and Ultima made a generous donation that helped the organization fund and open the Morgan & Morgan, P.A. Hunger Relief Center.

In 2013, John announced his support of the campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Florida for use by the state’s seriously ill. According to John, the deeply personal cause was a step to not only provide safer pain relief and treatment methods for those with legitimate diseases, but also to help end the rampant problem of prescription drug abuse in Florida. In addition to his financial contributions, John was the public face of the effort, openly recruiting volunteers to collect the thousands of signatures needed to place the initiative on Florida’s November 2016 general election ballot.

5 Best Pot Podcasts

Pot Podcasts are nothing new, but with the increasing media dominance of Netflix and other on-demand video services, the medium is enjoying a resurgence of popularity. We started a podcast called High Holidaze. That process may sound pretty casual, but that’s the amazing thing about podcasts – anybody can make one with little more than an idea, a microphone and a wifi connection. Our audience is practically microscopic, and if you decide to start a podcast yours will be too, at least at the start. There’s something more intimate and captivating about the listening experience of a podcast that lends itself perfectly to deeper storytelling.

We’re just one in a growing number of cannabis-related podcasts that have popped up on iTunes, Stitcher and other podcast platforms over the last few years. In the meantime, here are five of the best podcasts contributing to the growing marijuana media landscape. The Hash is a pot podcast for fans of Radiolab, 99 Percent Invisible, and the like: It hits on all the newsworthy topics but does so with a wonderful attention to sonic detail. Led by the Denver Post’s marijuana editor, Ricardo Baca, The Cannabist’s pot podcast walks the fine line between news and humor. His show on the Cannabis Radio podcast network delves deep into the minutiae of marijuana policy and features plenty of his famous rants.

It’s been more than two years since Tommy Chong and his son Paris released an episode of their podcast, but it’s worth digging through their archives. The best part of this particular podcast isn’t Benson himself, but the celebrities who get stoned for the sake of his show.

Essay by Ccampbell9420

It seemed as though a slight haze accumulated over nation’s capital after President Obama released his newest presidential proclamation. Effective immediately it is Legal for anyone of any age to recreationally smoke marijuana. Of course this announcement was met with criticism, but the president has presented some additional statements to support his revolutionary decision. The president and his staff have added one clause to this proclamation, 55% of all marijuana will be imported from the drug cartels of Mexico in an effort to solve the overwhelming immigration problems this country faces. Many people see no correlation between marijuana and immigration but it is believed funding of the drug cartel will increase their power in southern countries.

It is also a well know fact the president is concerned with the nation’s educational system, evident by his No Child Left Behind Initiative. The president has a concern that kindergarten class rooms are often much to rambunctious. To solve this, he plans to introduce marijuana to all public schools in a effort to mellow out these younger students. When the students have achieved a calm sate they will be more open to learning. Along with improvements to the countries educational system and immigration policies, the president anticipates the legal sale of marijuana will boost the economy.

Rather then shady drug deals, your local drug dealer on the corner can now accept credit cards, personal checks, and EBT cards. This sale will be taxable by both the state and federal government in an effort to reduce the counties debt as we approach the fiscal cliff.

Blue Dream: Marijuana Strain Information, History & Facts

Everybody else in the United States seems to be getting in on the reefer madness, so we’ve decided to do the same by introducing a new franchise: Weed Strain of the Week. When I think of weed strains, the first thing that comes to mind is the 2008 stoner comedy classic Pineapple Express. In one of the earliest scenes of the movie, Saul explains to Dale how fire his newest strain of marijuana – Pineapple Express – is by only referring to previous strains that Dale had smoked. Now that legal marijuana and dispensaries exist, actual marijuana strains are more prevalent than ever, so we figured it’s time we start learning them all, one by one. Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant hybrid originating in California, has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains.

Crossing a Blueberry indica with the sativa Haze, Blue Dream balances full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Novice and veteran consumers alike enjoy the level effects of Blue Dream, which ease you gently into a calm euphoria. Some Blue Dream phenotypes express a more indica-like look and feel, but the sativa-leaning variety remains most prevalent. With a sweet berry aroma redolent of its Blueberry parent, Blue Dream delivers swift symptom relief without heavy sedative effects. This makes Blue Dream a popular daytime medicine for patients treating pain, depression, nausea, and other ailments requiring a high THC strain.

Blue Dream, also known as Blueberry Haze, is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain of Cannabis. Blue Dream is a cross between the Blueberry and Haze strains, and was created around 2003 in Santa Cruz, California.

Matt’s Guide to Tuesday Night TV: New and Returning Shows

Continuing a weeklong series of new-season analysis and previews, here’s my take on how I see the new Tuesday lineups playing out. Tuesday in a Nutshell: The no-brainer: CBS will continue to rule with its NCIS-NCIS: LA combo, and the new procedural-with-a-twist Unforgettable should fit right in, possibly putting a dent in ABC’s midseason surprise Body of Proof, which roughly targets the same audience for female-driven crime dramas. Fox should make significant inroads with the younger demos, especially if Glee gets back its groove in this transitional graduation season. The delightful New Girl deserves to break out, and may bolster the fortunes of my favorite comedy from last season, Raising Hope. On NBC, The Biggest Loser provides stability if not much excitement, while Parenthood hopes to hold on to its small but devoted following.

Watching these guys, including Max Greenfield’s hilariously douchey wannabe ladies’ man, rally to her cause is undeniably sweet. The upside: She’s uncannily perceptive at crime scenes, and we often see her step outside her body to replay events from her mind’s eye. A Returning Favorite: Of tonight’s many season openers, only Fox’s Raising Hope was available for preview, and it’s a treat for anyone who loves a good call-back to classic sitcoms. The baby is older this season, but no less adorable. NCIS: LA picks up season three with the team seeking a wounded Hetty in Romania.

A new school year begins on Glee, while Sue kicks off her congressional campaign. Comedy Central’s Tosh.0 returns with Daniel doing his thing on the Arizona State University campus.

Rotten Tomatoes

You’re always trying as a film reviewer to rationalise or explain why you might like or dislike a particular film. In spite of our best efforts, there are always some films whose appeal is hard to pin down. Saving Grace is one of those films, like so many British comedies, which you enjoy almost in spite of yourself. You certainly wouldn’t advertise it as one of your favourite films if the topic came up in conversation. In amongst its flaws there is genuine enjoyment to be had, even if it is slightly embarrassing for so-called film buffs to admit it.

The film has a familiar stock of British dramatic and character actors, making it feel like the sort of work people take in between series of Midsummer Murders. Bill Bailey, who also appears in Hot Fuzz, turns up for a brief cameo as a drug dealer and almost steals the entire film. On this basis, you would expect Saving Grace to be a flimsy blancmange of a film, barely hanging together on the strength of a few famous faces. There is no more damning criticism of any film, let alone a comedy, to say that it would be improved if watched through a cloud of illegal chemicals. For all his frequent concessions to cliché and sentimentality, Cole has a good track record with making films which play to a female audience, and which are genuinely about woman rather than simply having women in them.

The real proof of the film’s steadiness of tone and belief in the central story comes in the scene involving the two elderly ladies in the post office, who in a previous scene accidentally drank some of Grace’s hemp after mistaking it for tea. You couldn’t argue that Saving Grace was a great film, or indeed a very good film.

Satire: The Real Problem With Legalizing Marijuana – Langley Today

Still others dismiss the idea of charging people with a crime for the recreational use of marijuana as just one more absurd and failed part of the war on drugs. Those opposed to legalizing marijuana talk about it being a ‘gateway’ drug that eventually leads users to harder, more dangerous drugs like crack cocaine. Some talk about safety issues related to things like smoking marijuana while driving while others decry what they see as the road to addiction. The only real difference is that the marijuana pictures will be of people freaking out as they search frantically for chocolate chip cookies and potato chips after smoking a joint. University campuses will be aflame with protest that marijuana is not permitted in the classroom and the cost subsidized by government and AdBusters will protest the commercialization of Mother Nature.

People Against Marijuana will form and begin a concerted campaign against the smoking of marijuana. This will not be the same people as those currently opposed to legalizing marijuana. PAM will lobby provincial and federal governments for new laws restricting the use of marijuana in various public locations. They’ll start with the workplace and then move to ban smoking marijuana in malls and parks. Eventually, PAM will be successful at getting government to ban marijuana from rock concerts.

Marijuana Farming IndustryMarijuana will fall out of favour; more and more people will quit resulting in declining sales which will undermine the marijuana farming industry. Eventually, all of the fun of tokin’ with a few friends will be lost as marijuana users stand shivering outside in winter where the smokers used to stand.

Joe Rogan on California Weed Regulations “It’s Dumb!”

Best Stoner Movies

The story follows Jenkins and his stoner roommates Brian and Scarface, who start selling marijuana in a scheme to bail their friend Kenny out of jail. Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon’s 2012 scary movie subversion is filled with twists and turns that are even more mind-blowing after a few blunts. Plus the film’s reluctant hero ends up being Marty Mikalski, an affable stoner who is introduced by folding his enormous bong into a cop-proof travel mug. There’s even an epic gun battle between a perpetually stoned woman and some of the most brutal London gangsters ever depicted on film. While there’s plenty of laughs to be had, watching the movie in an altered state could also be confusing, as the fast-talking thugs have thick English accents and use so much British slang that some scenes come with subtitles.

There is not a stoner in the world who does aspire to live more like The Dude, the role that will never escape Jeff Bridges. That appeal hasn’t waned, and we’re still hungry for more. Martin Scorsese’s 1978 rock doc is stuffed with stoner rock icons crushing a tribute to The Band during their farewell performance. Watch Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, and many more shred so hard that you’ll take a big bong hit and air guitar along to this legendarily drug-fueled concert. There’s also plenty of great vibes and groovy fashion that’s catnip for old-school potheads who still wish it was the ’70s.

Columbia Pictures. The pairing of Seth Rogen and James Franco was an inspired choice by Green and executive producer Judd Apatow, and putting Danny McBride in a neck brace is a one-way ticket to comedy gold. Throw in some shockingly blunt violence and you have a recipe for stoner success.

CDC: Fake Marijuana Contaminated With Rat Poison Kills 3, Sickens More Than 100 « CBS Philly

CHICAGO – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that fake marijuana likely contaminated with rat poison has killed three people in Illinois and caused severe bleeding in more than 100 others, including a few in four other states. The CDC has alerted doctors nationwide that patients with severe, unexplained bleeding may be additional cases. The CDC is helping Illinois authorities investigate the outbreak in that state, which began in early March. Illinois reported seven more cases on Tuesday, bringing the nationwide total to at least 116. Several patients and samples of so-called synthetic marijuana from Illinois have tested positive for a lethal ingredient often used in rat poison, the CDC and Illinois authorities said.

Symptoms include coughing up blood, blood in the urine, severe bloody noses, bleeding gums and internal bleeding. CDC’s alert says outside Illinois, emergency rooms in Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin and Maryland have treated affected patients since March 10. Illnesses have been linked to fake marijuana before but this is the first outbreak involving rat poison contamination, said the CDC’s Renee Funk. Fake marijuana, also called synthetic cannabinoids, contains man-made chemicals that produce a high similar to marijuana. Tests on fake pot bought at a Chicago convenience store by undercover agents detected the rat poison ingredient, the U.S.

attorney’s office said in a news release. Illnesses from fake marijuana have increased in recent years; a CDC report noted at least 456 cases between 2010 and 2015. The products are up to 100 times more potent than the active ingredient in marijuana and severe reactions have included seizures, coma and delirium.

Spirit of Marijuana (Oluwa comedy)

Acting Classes Los Angeles & Santa Monica

Most experienced actors are placed in a Comedy Intensive after an Intro Work Session. Comedy Intensives meet either three consecutive Mondays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays. After completing the Comedy Intensive, our four week Technique Clinic is the next step. Examining drama as well as comedy, we further develop and expand upon the skills introduced in the Comedy Intensive. Clinic classes meet once a week for four consecutive weeks and are taught by LK&Co.

While the Intensive is largely about what we have to teach you, and the Clinic is half what we have to teach you and half what is specifically going on with you and your acting, the Ongoing classes are pretty much all about you. Utilizing currently casting film and television material, Ongoing classes cover every aspect of the actor’s career. Ongoing classes meet once per week for three, four or five weeks, depending on the month. While our Essentials, Intensives, Clinics, and Ongoing acting classes focus aggressively on your acting-related issues, many of you quietly suffer from vocal issues that keep you from booking work even when your acting is superb. For several years we’ve been promoting Matt Beisner’s voice classes, and now we are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with his VOICE CLUB!

in order to offer classes that focus specifically on vocal production! You will learn a daily, ten to twelve minute vocal warm-up consisting of 21 detailed, physical exercises that will enable you – once and for all – to effortlessly create beautiful sound through the release of your breath. While actors often see changes almost immediately, the exercises do take some time to take hold – most people have years of poor vocal habits. The Acting Essentials class meets twice a week for eight weeks, and is taught by LK&Co.

Tommy Chong reflects on pot’s evolution as he turns 80

LOS ANGELES – Yeah man, Tommy Chong says he always knew he’d live to see the day marijuana legalization would be sweeping America. He even knew in 2003 when Chong was imprisoned for nine months for conspiring to distribute handcrafted artisanal bongs the government declared drug paraphernalia. So much so that when the High Priest of Stoner Comedy turns 80 on Thursday – that’s right, 80 – he expects his Chong’s Choice brand of marijuana, available in legal dispensaries in several states, will be consumed in abundance at the parties his family is planning. Not that he was ever a heavy pot user, Chong says, just a consistent connoisseur. When no other hits followed, Motown dropped the group, and the Canadian-born Chong returned to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he ran a pair of strip clubs with his brother.

Motown had helped Chong obtain a green card, and the two headed to fame and fortune in Los Angeles. On a recent early morning, Chong answers the door for a photo shoot at his longtime home in the hills overlooking L.A.’s wealthy Brentwood section, arriving in gray jeans, sandals and a black T-shirt advertising the name of a Colorado cannabis dispensary he recently visited. As a photographer sets up, Chong polishes off a breakfast of oatmeal topped with sliced banana. In recent years, he’s become a vegetarian, although he backslides. Chong, whose father emigrated from China before World War II, mostly identifies culturally as Chinese, although he’s equally proud of his Scotch, Irish and Native American ancestry from his mother’s side.

Before the pair’s bitter 1980s breakup, Cheech and Chong dominated comedy for 15 years. Those efforts generally ended in angry, insult-laden exchanges until 10 years ago when Paris Chong intervened.

70’s Comedy Record about Marijuana

Where Are They Now?

The comedy wonder spent a lot of time as a boy riding his bicycle back and forth in his neighborhood along El Prado Boulevard near Manhattan Avenue. His dad owned a skating rink on North Armenia Avenue just north of Osborne and that’s where he spent lots of his time early on. Comedian Gallagher as he appeared in the 1964Plant High SchoolYearbook…. He graduated from Plant High School in 1964 and pursued a degree in chemical engineering at the University of South Florida. Dozens of companies turned him down for employment, including The Tampa Tribune despite a good word on his behalf from Zappone with the personnel people.

Stauffer Chemical Company finally put him to work but a series of tasteless jokes coupled with his keener interest in show business earned him a pink slip. In the 80’s, he used his own money to videotape a dozen one-hour comedy programs he sold to HBO, The Comedy Channel, and home video distributors. He now lives in Palm Beach with his wife but returns to Tampa often to share watermelon with family members who still live in the area. I never used my own money for my Showtime specials and I was never on HBO. I worked for Florida Nitrogen later Kaiser Agricultural Chemicals as their chief chemist when Jan C.

Uterwick left to run his dad’s worldwide shipping company in downtown Tampa. My guidance councellor who later worked as an executive for Tampa Electric helped mediate the situation before graduation night. I worked for the coach who I visit with each time I return to town. I worked as a chemist until I graduated not after, then I went to Los Angeles where I was hired by Allied Chemical to work as a salesmen out of Chicago. Jim Stafford let me get up late at night in clubs where he worked like the Elbow Room on Longboat Key to practice it.

State issues first marijuana license, steady flow predicted

BOSTON – State regulators voted unanimously Thursday to grant the state’s first recreational marijuana business license to a marijuana grower in Milford. The license approved by the Cannabis Control Commission on Thursday will allow Sira Naturals to grow between 10,001 and 20,000 square feet of marijuana at their indoor facility at 13 Commercial Way in Milford. Sira Naturals already grows marijuana for medical patients at its Milford cultivation facility and operates medical dispensaries in Cambridge, Somerville and Needham. The company grows more than 60 strains of marijuana and turns it into cookies, caramels and other edibles. The CCC has had the authority to issue business licenses to marijuana companies since June 1 and expects that retail sales will begin on or around July 1, even though the regulators have not yet licensed any retail shops.

CCC Chairman Steven Hoffman said Thursday that the CCC expects to consider license applications at its meetings for the foreseeable future. CCC Executive Director Shawn Collins said Sira Naturals plans to be fully operational within four months of being licensed, though he noted that the company is already growing marijuana for medical use and has the ability to transfer some of that product to the adult use market. The provisional license is conditional upon a fingerprint-based check of state and federal criminal databases, payment of the $5,000 annual license fee, a certification that the company is in compliance with the Department of Public Health’s regulations for medical marijuana, and other conditions. Sira Naturals submitted its application to the CCC before any other companies, on April 18, and the CCC received word from Milford June 8 that the company is following all local zoning ordinances and town bylaws, Collins said.

George Carlin’s Last Words

The Irish Catholic kid from Corpus Christi parish in Harlem-with barely more than a year of high school education-combined his own fierce and fearlessly questioning mind with the lessons he’d learned on the streets of New York to craft comedy that made audiences laugh and challenged them to think. I think it’s great that you had that reaction, because that’s really what we set out to do. So I think that was both an explosive and a very determining factor. I think his legacy is going to be that he’s every bit as popular and long-lasting as Mark Twain, and I think his work is just as voluminous in its medium, and if anything, stronger. It’s not at all the image you take of Fellini; you think he was this left-wing, French nouveau, kind of – but not at all.

George worked for the side that paid him the most, I think, but that was self-selecting, because the kind of message he grew into was not going to be any more comfortable in Las Vegas than it would be on The National Review’s annual cruise. Partly I think that’s just respect, but it’s partly that he just taught people so many things. George’s fans are hugely loyal I think, over and above other comedians, because he went and met them and performed for them live. I certainly don’t think anyone but Richie Pryor, or possibly Lily Tomlin – though she had a more comedic career rather than a comedy career, I do think that she blazed a trail that was very important, and she was an exact contemporary of Richard and George. I don’t think anyone comes close to Carlin in terms of serious intent, including Richard, actually.

He called them the plateau, and I think that’s correct. I don’t think he went very far up after the 90s, even in the early 90s. I mean, he thought that Jamming in New York was the best special he’d ever done.

Legend of the U.S.S. Titanic, by Jaime Brockett

So here’s ol’ Jack he’s got his ticket now he takes everything he owns he wraps it on up in a diaper n’ he hangs it on a stick over his back n’ goes headin’ on down by the pierside. He gettin’ on down by the pierside his manager’s down there by the pierside n’ here she is folks – the USS Titanic! She’s lined up beside two hundred n’ fifty parkin’ meters n’ the Captain’s gettin’ done ready to split ’cause he run outta dimes. Now around this time there was an Italian senator n’ the state house n’ all Italian senators done got brothers own construction companies n’ this one had a brother he owned a construction company n’ the Titanic she was made outta good Italian wood, good Italian iron they said she’d never go down. So the Titanic she sails on out into the North sea she’s out there floatin’ around in and out between the icebergs n’ ol’ Jack’s standin’ on the pier.

They’re jumpin’ up n’ down They’re laughin’. They’re tradin’ wives n’ Cadillacs n’ diamonds n’ havin’ all sorts of good clean party fun. That brings us up to what’s happenin’ now – the Titanic she’s floatin’ around in and out between the icebergs, the Jewish people they partyin’ they tradin’ wives n’ Cadillacs n’ diamonds they drinkin’ booze n’ havin’ all sorts of party fun, everybody else is hoistin’ up land lubbers n’ battenin’ down hatches, the First Mate he’s hangin’ over the rail, he’s havin’ himself a little smoke… he’s diggin’ the icebergs. Havin’ himself a little smoke n’ it’s the Captain’s time to do his thing.

His thing right now is that he’s gotta go out n’ test the wind. The Jewish people they jumpin’ up n’ down they tradin’ wives n’ Cadillacs n’ diamonds n’ drinkin’ booze. Everybody else is hoistin’ up land lubbers, battenin’ down hatches n’ doin’ sail things. The First Mate’s hangin’ over there on the rail havin’ himself a little smoke n’ diggin’ icebergs.

I GOT FIVE ON IT 1 Full Movie The Original Comedy

The Institute of Politics at Harvard University

The opinion of 18- to 29- year olds related to the legalization of marijuana has remained unchanged since the last time that we asked this question in the Spring of 2013. When 18- to 29- year olds were asked whether they support, oppose or unsure about legalizing marijuana – we found that 44 percent support legalization, 34 percent oppose and 22 percent are unsure – the exact same percentages across the board as one year ago. Despite a solid level of support in favor of legalization, support is not widespread and there are a number of notable differences in opinion on this issue that are worth noting. Democrats support legalization 49 percent to 28 percent, Republicans oppose, 32 percent to 50 percent;. Younger Millennials ages 18- to- 24- years old are less sure about legalization, 38 percent support, 39 percent oppose, 22 percent unsure – while 25- to 29- year olds support by a margin of 50 percent to 28 percent;.

Whites support legalization 49 percent to 32 percent, while Blacks and Hispanics are close to even. When the question is changed to legalization for medical purposes, a majority of most every subgroup of 18- to 29- year olds support, including by party, gender, and age. Overall, two-thirds would support this measure, 14 percent would oppose and the percentage of young people saying they are unsure is 19 percent. Asked how their perception of a friend might change if they learned that friend used marijuana recreationally, 65 percent of 18- to 29- year olds said that it would not change their perception of them. Three in ten percent of respondents however said that their perception of a friend would change negatively, compared to 5 percent who said it would change positively.

Unclear if Marijuana is a Major Driver of Participation. Approximately one-in-four young Americans agree with the statement that they would be more likely to vote in an election where legalizing marijuana were on the ballot, and 32 percent disagreed.

420 day: Where cannabis is legal in the US and in countries around the world

Urban myths swirled for years that 420 was California state penal code for marijuana use, or numbers from a Bob Dylan song multiplied, or even related to Hitler’s birthday. This year, Lyft is offering riders in states where marijuana is legal a $4.20 discount. Is allowed in Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, Washington state, and Washington DC. It’s been a landmark year for marijuana legalization in the US, despite the best efforts of attorney general Jeff Sessions. On Jan. 1, California opened the world’s largest legal market for recreational marijuana, which is estimated to reach $5.1 billion.

Vermont became the first state legislature to legalize recreational marijuana. The US is now home to a growing multibillion-dollar pot industry that isn’t going anywhere any time soon, and e.lected officials have seen the benefits marijuana tax revenue brings to fund schools and infrastru. New Jersey governor Phil Murphy proved it was possible to run a successful political campaign with marijuana legalization as a central issue, and New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon appears to be following his lead. Update April 20: Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer announced today he plans to introduce legislation to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level, the latest sign that reform is gaining political traction. Uruguay became the first country to fully legalize marijuana in 2013 and last year began allowing sales in local pharmacies.

The Peruvian congress passed a bill in October that legalized medical marijuana, allowing the production, sale, and importation of cannabis oil. Marijuana is technically illegal in the Netherlands, but authorities will generally turn a blind eye. Only citizens are allowed to buy marijuana, though Amsterdam’s infamous coffeeshops are exempt from that rule. Where marijuana is legal or has been decriminalized.

Medicinal Fried Chicken

Cartman’s favorite restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken, has been shut down and replaced by a store that sells medical marijuana to cancer patients. Cartman will do anything to get his beloved fried chicken back. Stan, Kenny, Kyle and Cartman are at soccer practice, during which Cartman yet again manages to avoid playing by claiming he has a stomach ache, much to the annoyance of the soccer coach. After soccer the boys are picked up by Randy who takes them to KFC during which, Kyle points out that Cartman only goes to soccer on Friday because of the fact they go to KFC afterwards. Cartman meanwhile is infuriated by the fact that the only KFC in South Park is now gone.

That KFC is also closed, and the construction men there inform Cartman that all of the KFC’s have been shut down because of a new law which bans fast food from being sold in low income areas, and since KFC was ‘only’ in low income areas, in the entire state of Colorado, Kentucky Fried Chicken is illegal. On the way back from methadone clinic Cartman finds out on the playground that a boy named Billy Miller has KFC. Cartman goes to see him where he is treated to KFC popcorn chicken, but then Billy charges him $85, which is money that Cartman doesn’t have. In order to pay off his debt, Billy suggests that Cartman work as a mule to smuggle KFC into Colorado. Cartman delivers the money and KFC to Billy who tells him that he’s rather good at getting KFC in Colorado and will team up with Tommy and go to Kentucky to meet Colonel Sanders, who is alive and well on South Park.

Upon returning to South Park, Cartman overthrows Billy in running the KFC smuggling operation, by telling Billy’s parents that Billy got an ‘F’ on his Social Studies test. To exaggerate Cartman’s addiction to KFC, he starts cutting chicken skins into strips and snorts them. Thus KFC is once again made legal in Colorado, with the new store title of Medicinal Fried Chicken.
