Jack Herer: Marijuana Strain Information, History & Facts

Everybody else in the United States seems to be getting in on the reefer madness, so we’ve decided to do the same by introducing a new franchise: Weed Strain of the Week. When I think of weed strains, the first thing that comes to mind is the 2008 stoner comedy classic Pineapple Express. In one of the earliest scenes of the movie, Saul explains to Dale how fire his newest strain of marijuana – Pineapple Express – is by only referring to previous strains that Dale had smoked. Now that legal marijuana and dispensaries exist, actual marijuana strains are more prevalent than ever, so we figured it’s time we start learning them all, one by one. Jack Herer is a sativa-dominant cannabis strain that has gained as much renown as its namesake, the marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes.

Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both the cerebral elevation associated with sativas and the heavy resin production of indicas. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. Herer, who passed away in 2010, was an American cannabis activist and the author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. The Emperor Wears No Clothes is frequently cited in efforts to decriminalize and legalize cannabis and to expand the use of hemp for industrial use. Herer was known for his argument that cannabis should be decriminalized because it can used as a renewable source of fuel, medicine, food, fiber and paper/pulp and that it can be grown in virtually any part of the world for medicinal as well as economic purposes.

As for the strain itself, it is a sativa-dominant hybrid that was developed by Sensi Seeds in the 1990s before becoming one of the most popular strains in the United States. Jack Herer has passed its genetics and part of its name on to crossbred strains like Jack the Ripper, Jack’s Cleaner, and Jack Skellington.

McGeorge School of Law

Distinguished Professor of Law Michael Vitiello is a nationally-recognized expert on criminal law, sentencing policy, and marijuana law. His work on California’s three-strikes law has been cited by the United States Supreme Court and the California Supreme Court. Since 2002, he has been a member of the American Law Institute, a prestigious independent organization committed to improving and modernizing law whose highly selective membership is comprised of the best legal minds in the country. Professor Vitiello is the author of 11 books and over 50 law review articles. His most recent book, Animating Civil Procedure, focuses on how the right wing of the Supreme Court has used procedural decisions to close the courthouse door on many prospective plaintiffs, thereby favoring corporate and other powerful interests over injured plaintiffs.

His numerous articles on legalizing marijuana take a careful policy-oriented approach to that area of the law, insisting that, because legalization will occur, policy makers need to craft legislation to avoid undue social harm. Prior to entering the legal academy in 1977, Professor Vitiello served as a law clerk to a Pennsylvania appellate court judge for three years. Thereafter, he received tenure at Loyola Law School in New Orleans, before visiting at Tulane Law School and the University of Mississippi Law School. During his career, he has taught over fifteen different courses, with a special emphasis on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Civil Procedure. He has also created courses in a variety of comparative law areas, most notably using the Amanda Knox case to compare the Italian and American criminal justice systems, and has taught in international programs run by McGeorge in London and Salzburg.

Several years ago, he became the senior editor for a series of simulation books published by West Academic. Professor Vitiello has signed a contract with West Academic Publishing to co-author a casebook on the topic of Marijuana Law in 2018.

Canada Votes to Legalize Marijuana, Trump Jr.’s Nickname – Monologue

StoptheDrugWar.org

Oklahoma voters pass a very progressive medical marijuana initiative, legalizers win the Democratic gubernatorial nominations in Colorado and Maryland, Maine passes a major medical marijuana overhaul, and, with rightists now in power in Washington and Bogota, it looks like a new drug war is looming in Colombia. Colorado US Rep. Jared Polis, a leading congressional proponent of marijuana legalization, won the nomination in his state, while former NAACP head Ben Jealous, who has also called for marijuana legalization, won the nomination in Maryland. Orlando attorney John Morgan, the man behind the state’s successful 2016 medical marijuana initiative, now says he wants to put a legalization initiative on the 2020 ballot. More than half of Texas registered voters polled in the newest University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll support legalizing marijuana.

Another 31% would support legalizing medical marijuana, leaving only 16% against legalizing marijuana in any form. The legislature has passed a sweeping overhaul of the state’s medical marijuana program. The bill removes current qualifying conditions and allows doctors to recommend medical marijuana for any ailment and allows caregivers to expand their operations in exchange for tighter regulations. Voters in Oklahoma approved a remarkably progressive medical marijuana initiative by a healthy margin of 56% to 43%. The initiative, State Question 778, allows registered patients to possess up to three ounces of marijuana anywhere and up to eight ounces at home.

What is most striking about Question 778 is that it does not restrict access to medical marijuana to a list of qualifying conditions. The advocacy group Harm Reduction Ohio is accusing the state Health Department of using a bureaucratic delaying tactic to prevent needle exchange programs from accessing any of the funds the state is expected to receive for HIV prevention. Surrounding states submitted the necessary paperwork in 2016, he noted. In its 2018 World Drug Report released Tuesday, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime reported that both cocaine and opium supplies were at their highest ever recorded levels last year.

ChrisWeigant.com » Marijuana Grows Up

That’s a weak attempt at a punny metaphor for which I apologize, but its deeper meaning is that marijuana is actually outgrowing such cheap jokes and entering the realm where it demands to be taken seriously – especially by politicians. Marijuana is now the nation’s fastest-growing industry. The legal marijuana industry brought in $2.4 billion last year, so it’s certainly no longer any sort of laughing matter. The report projects a marijuana industry that could be more valuable than the entire organic food industry – that is, if the legalization trend continues to the point that all 50 states legalize recreational marijuana. The total market value of all states legalizing marijuana would top $36.8 billion – more than $3 billion larger than the organic food industry.

State-level gains on marijuana reform are one thing, but the real battles which remain are going to have to be fought at the federal level. The biggest political step that still needs to be taken on the national level is completely divorcing marijuana from the rest of the ill-fated Drug War. While marijuana activists were amused that last year’s Super Bowl was played between the two teams from fully-legal recreational states, this year it is even more impressive that ex-stars of the N.F.L. are now publicly calling for the league to change their own rather Draconian attitudes towards marijuana use by their players. Marijuana may not be sold everywhere in the country, but then neither is alcohol.

In a nod to the N.F.L. players’ column, I can end here by defining the ultimate measure of when marijuana will be fully normalized in American society: when an advertisement for weed airs during the Super Bowl. The marijuana industry is growing so fast that such a thing may become reality a lot sooner than anyone might now predict. The marijuana industry is indeed growing up, and eventually it’s going to want a seat at the biggest advertising table the country has to offer.

Campus enforcement of marijuana use remains disjointed – The Stanford Daily

Over a year after California legalized marijuana consumption, campus enforcement of recreational marijuana use remains murky. Smoking marijuana in public remains illegal under California law, and official University policy continues. Ralph Castro, director of the Office of Alcohol Policy and Education, explained that repercussions for marijuana use on campus can differ depending on where the incident took place. On the other hand, smoking in public areas can lead to police citations on top of Stanford sanctions, even if individuals holds a medical marijuana license. These verbal warnings do not enter students’ criminal records but may be relayed to the University staff during meetings between the administration and the police, said Lt.

Jon Hernandez, who oversees the Records and Investigative Services Division of Stanford Public Safety Department. Though Stanford prohibits marijuana use on University property, residential staff do not always follow policy to the letter. Only 12 students were cited for marijuana consumption last year, compared to 29 percent of students who self-reported smoking marijuana within the last 30 days in a 2016 OAPE survey. Student residential staff are contractually obligated to alert professional staff about students who violate the policy, but some Resident Fellows and student staff have gotten around the rules by advising students to smoke marijuana where they are less likely to get caught. Student staff members’ jurisdiction ends at 30 feet beyond the dorm – a fact that some houses take advantage of when communicating marijuana policy to residents.

Most students The Daily spoke to were unaware or undeterred by the University’s ban on marijuana use. Of the 30 students interviewed in December 2017, two assumed that marijuana is officially permitted on campus since it was legalized in California. As Stanford and local lawmakers continue to grapple with the implications of marijuana legalization, students seem largely unbothered by official regulations.

Can Employees Smoke Medical Marijuana at Work?

When he tested positive for marijuana, he told us not to worry and produced a doctor’s prescription for medical marijuana which he uses to relieve his pain from an injury. As of June 2010, laws legalizing possession of marijuana for certain medical purposes exist in fourteen states and the District of Columbia, including: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and New Jersey. Figuring out these state laws can put even the clearest thinker in a haze, but they basically allow a seriously ill patient to grow and/or use marijuana, generally with a doctor’s written or oral recommendation. State laws conflict with the federal Controlled Substances Act which prohibits the possession, use and cultivation of marijuana, but a 2009 memorandum from the US Department of Justice states it will focus its resources on prosecuting large-scale enterprises that unlawfully sell marijuana, and not individuals who are compliant with their state’s medical marijuana law. Court cases in several states have challenged the termination of an employee or the withdrawal of a job offer for individuals who have a legal prescription for marijuana use, based on a positive marijuana test.

State courts generally have ruled that employers are not legally required to accommodate marijuana use, whether the person is a candidate for employment or a current employee who comes to you and says she now has a prescription and intends to use it. In California, the state Supreme Court held that the law protects medical marijuana users from criminal prosecution, but not from being fired. The case in question involved an employee’s off-duty use of medical marijuana to treat a disability. In Oregon, physician-prescribed marijuana for chronic pain is legal, but the law specifically states that employers are not required to accommodate the use of medical marijuana at work. The state of Washington ruled that an employer’s drug-free workplace policy can supercede the Medical Use of Marijuana Act.

If you do test an employee, a urine test is not the best test to use. In a nutshell, you do not have to accommodate the use of medical marijuana when making a hiring decision or for current employees.

Aim High: Marijuana legalization puts US military in a pickle

With Alaska, Oregon and the District of Columbia recently voting to legalize recreational marijuana use two years after Colorado and Washington passed their own referendums, the army has gone to great lengths to remind their troops that state law holds no sway for servicemen. The military, as a federal institution, is governed by federal laws, under which marijuana possession remains a criminal offense. The top brass claims to keep cadets on the straight and narrow by issuing frequent drug tests and stiff penalties for those who test positive for marijuana. Army testing data recently obtained by the Washington Times through a Freedom of Information presents a less than clear picture regarding the frequency with which military bases in states that have legalized marijuana are testing troops for the substance. According to the FOI, of the 41,000 soldiers stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State, only about 75 percent – or 30,836 soldiers – were tested for marijuana in fiscal year 2014.

At Fort Carson, Colorado all 26,000 active duty personal stationed at the base were tested during the same period. According to data, the number of soldiers testing positive for marijuana dropped from 315 in fiscal 2012 to 250 in fiscal 2013. A similar trend was registered at Fort Carson, with the total number of soldiers testing positive dropping from 365 to 254 over the same period. Army officials told the Washington Times that the current random testing regime is a strong enough deterrent to keep soldiers from smoking marijuana. Due to the perceived success of the current policy, no plans are in order to boost testing in states with more liberal marijuana use regimes. 2010 case, an Oregon National Guard reservist who received a medical marijuana license for crippling cases of rheumatoid arthritis and Sjogren’s syndrome faced court martial despite the fact that she was unable to return to service due to her health and was set to be discharged.

As for spouses, cases have already been registered of service members getting stopped by base guards while driving on base, where marijuana legally prescribed to a spouse got the soldier in hot water.

Matt Besser wants to smoke your weed

Reaching far back into his memories, to the halcyon days of his first youthful engagements with cannabis, comedian Matt Besser thinks of Nancy Reagan. For the Los Angeles-based Besser that perspective is particularly extreme. That’s because Besser has been weaving cannabis into his comedy for what he says is longer than he can remember – including hosting a weed-infused comedy show every year on 4/20 since 2006 – and with the shifting attitudes and policies surrounding the subject matter, that means a constant reworking of his material. If you’re curious what that might look like, Besser would be happy to show you, as this month marks the first time the comedian is bringing his canna-comedy routine to Colorado, with a stop at the Springs’ Temple of Open Faith on July 7. This show will also mark the first time Besser has performed in a venue that legally allows cannabis consumption on the premises.

While Besser isn’t one to typically stoke his creative fire by toking up before or during a show, he admits he may be willing to make an exception given the special nature of the venue. He’s still making sure to leave himself enough room for a unique dialogue with the audience. The majority of the material will, of course, be cannabis-centric, though whether Besser will use that license to riff on the age-old ritual of buying a bong, or the new-age ritual of applying for a medical card, is something audiences will have to pay admission to find out. While cannabis may be the catalyzing force behind the show’s humor, he sees the plant as relating to all facets of life, and thus could hit on a variety of subjects ranging from the sexual to those as benign as a dinner with his daughter at Benihana. Ironically, Besser’s pot humor arrives in what is arguably the preeminent cannabis state at a stage in the comedian’s life when he no longer really partakes.

Who first began his comedy career in and around Boulder and Denver, the tour also represents something more personal, as it will be the first time he’s returned to the area since getting his start out of college. As outlined by his comedy this mixture of business and pleasure is nothing new for Besser, though when he takes the stage in the Springs, both he and the audience will have an opportunity to see the two come together onstage in a way like never before.

Marijuana Joke: Mike Marino Tells Funny Marijuana Jokes! – Stand Up Comedy

DA to streamline review of felony marijuana convictions for dismissal

After clearing hundreds of misdemeanor marijuana convictions, District Attorney George Gascon has a new tool that will automate the labor-intensive process for reviewing thousands of felony convictions for possible dismissal. In an announcement Tuesday morning, Gascon said the computer program will automatically determine whether nearly 5,000 felony marijuana convictions in San Francisco are eligible for dismissal or reduced sentencing and, if so, generate paperwork for the District Attorney’s Office to file with the court. Gascon’s office has cleared 428 misdemeanor marijuana convictions since January, when the district attorney began retroactively applying California’s new cannabis legalization laws under Proposition 64 to old cannabis cases. 64 legalized recreational cannabis for adults over the age of 21 and also allowed people convicted of marijuana-related misdemeanors and felonies to petition their cases for dismissal or reduction to a lesser offense. Rather than have individuals petition the court on their own, Gascon directed his office in January to review all 3,038 misdemeanor and 4,390 felony convictions in San Francisco dating back to 1975. As of Monday, the San Francisco Superior Court has granted 428 of the 528 motions to dismiss misdemeanor marijuana convictions that the District Attorney’s Office has filed since January.

The process for reviewing felony cases is more labor intensive, since prosecutors have to analyze criminal histories to determine whether a case can be dismissed or reduced under state law. The effort is also meant to remedy the disproportionate impacts of the war on drugs on people of color in San Francisco, where researchers have found that black people remain more than twice as likely to be arrested on suspicion of a drug offense than elsewhere in California. A recent study from the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice shows that black people were not only 2.4 times more likely to be arrested on a drug offense in San Francisco than in California in 2016, but 10 times more likely to be the subject of a drug arrest in The City than residents of other races. The disparities persisted even as the number of drug arrests in San Francisco plummeted by 92 percent over the last three decades, from 29,200 in 1988-89 to just 2,414 in 2015-16. Code for America plans to partner with three to five other California counties in addition to San Francisco, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The group aims to clear 250,000 convictions by 2019.

Since the first statewide medical marijuana laws went into effect in California in 1996, the number of Americans with legal access to what for many is a pleasurable drug has been steadily growing. As a Schedule I drug, under federal law, marijuana is considered to have no medical use, although there are thousands of patient testimonials to the contrary. Today, in states with the most liberal marijuana laws, citizens’ access to the drug now resembles that of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, before the first attempts at federal regulation. Changes in federal drug policy during the Nixon administration loosened penalties for some kinds of drug violations, while expanding the powers of law enforcement and reshaping the federal anti-drug agencies to be more directly responsive to White House control. In 1970, Congress passed the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act, which placed marijuana in the most restrictive category of drugs having no permissible use in medical practice.

The scheduling of marijuana was suggested by an Assistant Secretary of Health pending the report from a Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse, headed by a former governor of Pennsylvania Raymond Shafer with members appointed by the president, speaker of the House, and the president pro tem of the Senate. As Carter pointed out in a message to Congress in 1977, anti-marijuana laws cause more harm to marijuana users than the drug itself. Ronald Reagan had opposed decriminalization of marijuana as governor of California and, as president, showed no sympathy for drug use or users. Drugs were drugs, albeit federal sentencing guidelines made some drugs much worse. The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, which brought police into schools to lecture against drugs, was also founded during this period, as were clubs in many schools that enticed pupils to sign anti-drug pledges.

Concern over drug use appeared to peak in September the following year, when 64 percent of respondents in a New York Times/CBS News poll identified drugs as the single most pressing issue facing the nation, not long after Bush gave an Oval Office speech on the subject. Following the anti-drug campaigns of recent years, it is fascinating to note that today’s liberalization efforts have largely succeeded not by trying to shift attitudes about drugs, but by redefining marijuana as medicine and by focusing on the economic and social costs of the incarceration that has resulted from drug laws.

Back to the Movies

Marijuana and the movies have had a long, mostly potent relationship. Cannabis has inspired any number of cinematic artists, and it’s important to note how public perception of pot has changed throughout the years, with evolving laws and a recent explosion of smoker-friendly content. Marijuana has been used in an erudite fashion by filmmakers, woven into the narrative like a character in Curtis Hanson’s masterpiece Wonder Boys, the iconic Coen brothers sensation The Big Lebowski, and the underrated Leaves of Grass. Oliver Stone’s entire cannon feels especially indebted to ganja, as does Terry Gilliam’s psychotropic adaptation of Hunter Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Self-professed cannabis enthusiast Robert Altman left a misty haze over much of his work, most notably The Long Goodbye, California Split, and M*A*S*H, while his protégé, Paul Thomas Anderson, crafted a pot-infused ode to private eye cinema with Inherent Vice.

F. Gary Gray’s sly, smart, and hilarious pot comedy Friday still stands as one of the most influential cannabis narratives. The Seth Rogen/Judd Apatow connection has helped to legitimize marijuana to the masses, with box-office hits Pineapple Express and Knocked Up majorly emphasizing marijuana, treating it like a character as much as any of the leading actors. Musical biopic spoof Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story has some hilarious moments concerning reefer, the two Neighbors movies nearly give off a contact high, and the meta-comedy This Is The End carried a lit-joint torch of pro-pot components. Let’s not forget Danny McBride getting stoned with some sheep in Your Highness, which shared the skunky whiffs of 80’s cult-classics Krull and The Beastmaster.

High school comedies have consistently thrown marijuana into the equation, with Amy Heckerling’s Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused standing as cultural touchstones. Nearly all of Kevin Smith’s films seem to have been born out of a cloud of bong smoke, with the Jay and Silent Bob characters feeling like zeitgeist-tapping creations of cannabis-happy comedy. Greg Araki’s Smiley Face with Anna Faris is one of the more perceptive and giggle-inducing movies to feature a stoner at its center, while Jonathan Levine’s unique 90’s time capsule The Wackness painted a portrait of people’s lives fully dictated by marijuana, and how it can be used both for good and bad. Written by Nick Clement.

Ngaio Bealum, a cannabis comedian from Sacramento, reflects on the passage of Proposition 64 in California

During a recent lunch hour at midtown’s Hook & Ladder, exactly one week after Proposition 64 was passed by California voters, Sacramento’s leading cannabis celebrity reached into the pocket of his sports coat, pulled out a small baggie filled with Red Diesel marijuana buds, and slapped it defiantly on the table. Bealum, 48, long had hoped for days like this, when a person could show off his or her weed in public like a prized bottle of wine and not fear punishment. Bealum’s likeness, with his signature Sherlock Holmes pipe and graying dreadlocks, even has been licensed for strains sold by the Natural Cannabis Company. Ngaio riffs on pot in ways that focus on the topical and the personal, such as parenthood while being a cannabis activist. 64, which legalized the recreational use of marijuana in California, despite some push back within the cannabis community. In particular, some pot farmers feared the measure’s passage would put them out of business due to increased taxes and regulations and pave the way for corporations with deep pockets to corner the market.

Bealum, a cannabis activist since 1990, was sold on the decriminalization aspects of Prop. Bealum says he’s appeared in court twice over pot-related matters, including an arrest in Washington before the state approved recreational use in 2012. Despite the momentum for marijuana in the 2016 elections, with eight states passing recreational or medical marijuana use initiatives, Bealum remains nervous over the future of legalization. Though marijuana is now decriminalized in 29 states and Washington, D.C., cannabis remains illegal under federal law. On election night, as Donald Trump was elected as 45th president of the United States, Bealum responded to a tweet that questioned if pro-marijuana measures would remain under a Trump administration.

For now, Bealum’s on a roll playing the cannabis circuit and says opportunities appear to be increasing in the wake of Prop.

From the moment Dave Chapelle abandoned his hit TV series, having walked away from a deal worth $50 million, fans have been waiting for his return to television. Yes, Dave Chappelle is back, making his return to the screen with what is a pair of blistering, never-before-aired specials from his personal vault. In a special two-show event, the comedy legend returns to burn up the stage with sly digs, edgy commentary, and unfiltered hilarity. While he has been missed from screens, don’t think that Chappelle hasn’t been working, ’cause he hasn’t stopped. The only difference is, he hasn’t been featured in television or movies, having chosen to go back to his roots performing at some of the most iconic comedy venues in the country.

If you’ve already mainlined each, don’t despair, as there’s one more special to be screened. The third, which is currently unnamed, will screen at a later date. While it’s not known how much exactly he got paid, the deal – inked in the fall of 2016 – was said to be worth more than the one he walked away from, back in 2004. Another interesting fact is that even though The Age of Spin is the first in the lineup, it was actually recorded a year after Deep in the Heart of Texas, despite the former being the first to be ordered by Netflix. As you’d expect from Chappelle, it’s never just an ordinary routine, with some one-man sketches proving that Dave has still got it.

With the topics ranging from the times he met O.J. Simpson – four times, no less – to Paula Deen and even how the success of Kevin Hart affected him, it seems to be the Dave Chappelle of old.

5 Best Cannabis Inspired Comedy Skits

Weed and laughter often walk hand in hand with one another. Some comedians have capitalized on this phenomena by introducing marijuana related material into their comedic skits. Everyone who smokes weed likely has a story about a time they got too high or had a thought provoking moment. The following skits showcase these scenarios by way of the comedic geniuses of today and the past. Todd Glass begins by touching on the legal comparisons between weed and alcohol.

He’s essentially saying that he views weed and alcohol as equals, except one’s legal and the other isn’t. Williams’ skit makes a couple of bold claims: almost everyone should smoke weed and that weed isn’t a drug. His argument for weed not being a drug is that it’s natural and you can’t overdose on it even though you might think your friend is dead after smoking too much. The irony of this statement is that he’s smoking a cigarette as he makes these claims. 1 Louis C.K. Louis C.K.

is arguably the funniest comedian alive today. Louis recalls a time when he smoked weed with young fans in a parking lot after one of his shows. Unbeknownst to him, the weed of today is much stronger than it was during his childhood.

Canada legalizes recreational use of Marijuana

Residents of Canada will be able to use marijuana without the worry of law enforcement, as the country’s senate has passed a bill legalizing the recreational use of the drug. Canada becomes the second country to legalize the drug nationwide, following Uruguay in 2013. The country’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that people will be able to use the drug legally come October 17.It’s been too easy for our kids to get marijuana – and for criminals to reap the profits. Our plan to legalize & regulate marijuana just passed the Senate. According to ABC News, the legislation allows for people over the age of 18 to carry and use up to 30 grams of dried cannabis in public.

It also allows for residents to cultivate up to four cannabis plants at home, with dried cannabis and cannabis oil set to go on sale later this year.

MANGHAM, La. – Police in Louisiana say actor and musician Corey Feldman has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license after his tour bus was pulled over for speeding over the weekend. Mangham, Louisiana, police say they pulled over a recreational vehicle driven by Feldman on Saturday and took him to a police station after discovering his license was suspended. Police say an officer at the station smelled marijuana and the drug was found in the RV following a search. Police say Feldman was released after paying a fine. Feldman says on Twitter Sunday he had no marijuana on him and faced a charge only because it was his vehicle.

Marijuana cannabis jokes humor

So the devil took the man and showed him to a room full of hundreds upon thousands of georgeous and beautiful naked women. 100 years later the devil came by to let the three men out. He opened the door to the first man’s room and found the man collapsed on the ground, passed out with empty bottles laying around him and puke all over him. Finally the devil came to the third man’s room and opened the door. Sitting in the middle of all the bud, in the exact same position the devil had left him in was the man. A stoner would say, „Take me stoned, I’m home.

A stoner was relaxing next to a cactus with his horse standing next to him. This white stoner guy is heading off to Jamaica for a week with his buddies. His fiancee, Wendy, is really worried about her man being unfaithful, so she asks him to tattoo her name to his penis. When his penis isn’t erect you can see the letters W and Y. The woman feeling secure knowing that her name is tattooed on her man’s penis says good-bye to her fiancee and he leaves for Jamaica.

One day, while in Jamaica, the guy is at the urinal and a black Jamaican comes and stands at the urinal next to him. The drunk said, „I think I’m gonna pretend I’m a bottle and just roll down the hill so he did it the stoner thought for a minute then rolled down the hill when he got to the bottom he seen the drunk was in pieces on the ground so he walked over to him the drunk looks up and says how did you make it without getting hurt the stoner said I pretended I was a joint!

Agricultural Hemp vs. Marijuana: Cultivation Techniques

When it comes to cannabis, there is a lot of information and misinformation circling the internet. With growing support for marijuana legalization, America is running into the desperate need for readily available information on the plant responsible for so much controversy. One of the biggest misconceptions is that all cannabis gets you high. Agricultural hemp is produced for textiles, CBD Oil extracts, paper and a number of other uses. The plant most commonly used in the hemp industry is Cannabis Sativa, growing between 10 and 15 feet tall before harvesting.

Industrial hemp plants also have little to no THC, meaning that they have no psychoactive properties. One of the biggest differences between industrial-scale hemp production and marijuana growing operations is the environment in which you grow it. Industrial hemp is clutivated outdoors due to the massive size the crops can reach. The point of this type of hemp production is to get the greatest quantity for the lowest cost. Since the fibers and CBD contents will largely remain the same if using one hemp strain unilaterally, the deviation between each plant will be negligible.

Is Weed Legal in New York? Bill de Blasio Orders End to Marijuana Arrests

As New York City continues to grapple with a justice system that disproportionately punishes people of color for marijuana-related crimes, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has told the NYPD to stop arresting people for smoking marijuana in public. A source at City Hall told CNN that de Blasio made the request over the weekend, as his administration continues to look for ways to improve how the city polices marijuana-related drug charges. Summons or not, it’s unknown if the change would deter police officers from searching people on the suspicion that they possess marijuana. Marijuana is in a something of a legal limbo in the state of New York. Medical marijuana is legal for those with qualifying conditions, but only in non-smokable forms.

As more and more states have moved to legalize marijuana for medicinal and recreational purposes, NY’s own Senator Chuck Schumer recently threw his weight behind a federal bill that would decriminalize marijuana use. Preparing for the InevitablePerhaps eyeing this nation-wide trend, de Blasio’s new initiative also follows an investigation by the New York Times, published May 13, that showed how heavy-handed marijuana charges have disproportionately affected people of color across the city. According to data gathered by The Times, over the past three years, black people were arrested on low-level charges for marijuana eight times more often than white people. Specifically in Manhattan, black people were arrested at 15 times the rate of white people. Last week, Mayor de Blasio announced that the NYPD has formed a working group that will present recommendations on changing marijuana enforcement tactics within 30 days.

According to the New York Daily News on Monday, de Blasio is also putting together a task force to get ready for full legalization. It will be tasked with providing recommendations on issues like public education campaigns about marijuana use, how police will interact with public smokers, and zoning for dispensaries.

Marijuana Intoxication Blamed In More Deaths, Injuries « CBS Denver

In an autopsy report that had never been made public before, but was obtained by CBS4, his THC level – the active ingredient in marijuana – was measured at 38.2 nanograms. Up until now, just three other deaths in Colorado were seen as having links to marijuana. Levy Thamba Pongi, a 19-year-old college student jumped from a Denver balcony to his death in 2014 after eating marijuana edibles. Marijuana intoxication was listed as a factor in his death. The Juarez case adds another to the list of death cases with links to marijuana.

CBS4 found another Colorado death with strong ties to recreational marijuana. His older sister, Tori Castagna, told CBS4 she now believes marijuana impairment led her brother to make poor decisions the night of his death. Dr. Chris Colwell, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center, said since the legalization of recreational marijuana in Colorado, he has seen more and more cases like these of people who have ingested marijuana making poor decisions, decisions they would not otherwise make. Colwell said several times each week people enter the Denver Health emergency department after ingesting marijuana and acting suicidal.

Colwell said his ER is seeing more and more of the same issues from marijuana that it has historically seen from alcohol. Marijuana activists call these kinds of stories scare tactics and say the problems associated with marijuana ingestion are infinitesimal when compared to alcohol and prescription drugs. In Boulder, eight years after her son’s death, Ann Clark believes her son’s own words show that marijuana led him to kill himself.

N.J. Lawmakers Introduce Bills To Legalize Marijuana, Expand Medical « CBS New York

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Under new legislation unveiled Friday, recreational marijuana would be legalized in New Jersey and the state’s medical cannabis program would be expanded. The state is moving toward legalizing the drug under Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, who while on the campaign trail promised to authorize recreational cannabis, but the Legislature has not moved on the issue beyond hearings and introducing legislation. Democratic Senate President Steve Sweeney and state Sen. Nicholas Scutari announced the new bills just weeks ahead of a June 30 budget deadline that has upped the stakes since Murphy is banking on revenue from legalization to balance his fiscal 2019 spending pan.

Nine states and the District of Columbia have legalized recreational marijuana. His budget assumes $60 million in new revenues from the pending approval of recreational marijuana. Under the legislation, people 21 and over could possess, buy, use or transport an ounce or less of marijuana. The bill calls for establishing a graduated tax rate on marijuana sales over several years, and calls for tax rates from 10 percent to 25 percent over four years. A previous version of the bill called for escalating the tax rate from 7 percent to 25 percent over five years.

Another bill expands the state’s medical marijuana program and allows any health-care practitioner permitted to prescribe controlled substances to write prescriptions. President Donald Trump on Friday said he would likely support a federal bill to end the national ban on marijuana. The federal ban that puts marijuana on the same level as LSD and heroin has created a conflict with about 30 states that have legalized pot in some form, creating a two-tiered enforcement system at the state and federal levels. The legislation would ensure states have the right to determine the best approach to marijuana within their borders, but some U.S. restrictions would remain, including sales of non-medical pot to people under 21.

No lull in Fitchburg marijuana applications

Boston-based company, Native Sun Wellness, expects to come before the Planning Board on July 10 to propose a recreational marijuana cultivation facility on 140 Industrial Road. sentinel & enterprise photo/jeff porter. FITCHBURG – The marijuana industry’s investment in the city shows no sign of slowing down. Plans for a new facility to grow marijuana and the expansion of an existing one are expected to come before the Planning Board next month, according to city officials. These proposals are the latest in a steady stream of applications that have come before the city in the past two years.

Boston-based company, Native Sun Wellness, expects to come before the Planning Board on July 10 to propose a recreational marijuana cultivation facility on 140 Industrial Road, according to CEO and co-founder Mark Schuparra. He said the company is in the process of purchasing the former furniture manufacturing building, which the company plans to renovate starting Aug. 1 before beginning production in early 2019. After looking at hundreds of possible spaces around the state, Schuparra said they chose this location, because of the existing building and the city’s already sizable experience granting local permits for this relatively new industry. On June 6, the company held a community outreach meeting at the Fitchburg Fire Department Headquarters, but did not receive any feedback from residents, he said. Schuparra said the company is applying to open three retail stores, likely in Hudson and Boston.

Not including the application from Native Sun Wellness, at least six cultivation facilities and two dispensaries have either opened or received a special permit from the Planning Board. Earlier this year, the company received Planning Board approval to expand operations into the upper floors of its buildings, according to Tom Skwierawski, the city’s executive director of community development. On July 10, the company is expected to request permitting to further expand into an adjacent building, he said.
